This simple yet flavorful pasta dish highlights the bold and spicy flavors of black pepper, making it perfect for those who love a little heat in their meals. Best of all, it requires just a handful of ingredients and can be made in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
Yield: 4 servings
1 pound spaghetti
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
6 tablespoons freshly cracked black pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt, to taste
Instructions:
Step 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, according to package instructions.
Step 2
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the 6 tablespoons of black pepper and cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
Step 3
Once the pasta is cooked, use a slotted spoon or tongs to transfer it directly from the pot of water to the skillet with the black pepper and olive oil. Reserve the cooking water.
Step 4
Add 1/2 cup of the reserved cooking water to the skillet and toss well to combine, cooking for another minute or so. This will create a creamy sauce that coats the pasta.
Step 5
Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the pasta. Toss well to combine, adding more cooking water if needed to thin out the sauce.
Step 6
Season the pasta with salt to taste, and serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper.
