Ingredients:

Yield: 4 servings
1 lb XL shrimp, peeled, cleaned, and deveined
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, seasoned with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and chili powder
1 quart buttermilk
1/2 tsp lemon-bae seasoning
1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
2 tbsp ketchup
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup relish
1 tsp hot sauce
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Lemon juice
Hoagie rolls
Lettuce
Seasoned tomatoes

Instructions:

Step 1
Begin by seasoning the shrimp with lemon-bae seasoning, Cajun seasoning, and AP seasoned flour.
Step 2
Coat the seasoned shrimp with buttermilk and let them sit for 15-20 minutes to allow the seasoning to absorb.
Step 3
Dredge the shrimp in the seasoned flour and deep fry them at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown.
Step 4
In a small mixing bowl, prepare the sauce by mixing ketchup, mayonnaise, relish, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and a splash of lemon juice.

Slice the hoagie rolls and toast them lightly until golden brown.
Step 6
Spread the sauce on both sides of the rolls.
Step 7
Lay lettuce, seasoned tomatoes, and fried shrimp on each roll, making sure to pile it high.
Step 8
Serve immediately and enjoy the delicious, crispy taste of a Southern classic.
