Pao de Queijo is a traditional Brazilian cheese bread made with cassava flour and cheese. These crispy and chewy cheese balls have a delicious flavor and are perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Ingredients:

Yield: approximately 30 servings
2 cups of cassava flour
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 tsp of salt
2 cups of grated cheese. We recommend using a mix of Parmesan and mozzarella cheese for the best flavor.

Instructions:

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a large bowl, whisk together the cassava flour and salt until well combined.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
Step 4
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough is formed.
Step 5
Stir in the grated cheese until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Step 6
Scoop the dough by tablespoons and roll each one into a small ball. Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between them.
Step 7
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the balls are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
Step 8
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Step 9
Serve hot and enjoy these deliciously cheesy Pao de Queijo. They can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
