Ingredients:

Yield: 1 servings
1 really really long hot dog bun
1 large sausage, preferably kielbasa or bratwurst
2 tablespoons of butter
1/4 cup of diced onions
1/4 cup of diced tomatoes
1/4 cup of diced pickles
Ketchup, mustard, and/or relish to taste

Instructions:

Step 1
Start by heating up a grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
Step 2
Slice the sausage lengthwise to make it easier to fit into the hot dog bun.
Step 3
Once the grill is hot, place the sausage on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it's cooked through and slightly charred.
Step 4
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the diced onions and sauté until they're translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 5
To assemble the hot dog, take the really really long hot dog bun and place it on a plate. Spread a little bit of butter on the inside of the bun to give it a nice buttery flavor.
Step 6
Add the cooked sausage inside the bun, making sure it's well centered.
Step 7
Top the sausage with the sautéed onions, diced tomatoes, and diced pickles.
Step 8
Drizzle ketchup, mustard, and/or relish on top of your hot dog until your preferred taste is achieved.
Step 9
Serve hot and enjoy!
