This decadent dish is a true indulgence and perfect for those special occasions. The rich and creamy foie gras pairs perfectly with the tangy and sweet flavors of the accompanying jam and makes for an unforgettable culinary experience.

Ingredients:

Yield: 4-6 servings
1 fresh foie gras (around 500g)
1/4 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of white wine
1/4 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup of your favorite jam (we recommend fig jam)

Instructions:

Step 1
Start by cleaning the foie gras and removing any impurities or veins. Pat it dry with paper towels.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Step 3
Combine the sugar, white wine, and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
Step 4
Reduce heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until it thickens and becomes slightly syrupy.
Step 5
Add salt, black pepper, and balsamic vinegar.
Step 6
Spread the mixture over the foie gras, making sure to coat it evenly.
Step 7
Place the foie gras in a small baking tray and cover it with aluminum foil.
Step 8
Bake for 20 minutes.

Remove the aluminum foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the foie gras is golden brown.
Step 10
Let the foie gras rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Serve the foie gras slices with a generous dollop of fig jam on top.
